Leicester Tigers line-up for Wasps trip

International forwards Louis Deacon and Marcos Ayerza return to the Leicester Tigers line-up for Sunday's Guinness Premiership trip to face London Wasps.

Deacon reclaims his place in the second row after missing last Saturday’s win over Leeds Carnegie, while prop Ayerza is back in the starting line-up after playing for Argentina in the autumn internationals.

Mefin Davies and Brett Deacon start in the forward pack and Johne Murphy regains his place on the wing after scoring two tries in a win for Ireland A over Argentina Jaguares last weekend.

Back-rower Craig Newby returns from injury to take his place among the replacements.

“We were very pleased that we kept playing against Leeds last weekend and kept creating things and in the end we were able to convert those chances,” said head coach Richard Cockerill.

“We are in a decent place in the league and we’ve picked up points in every game, but there is no room to sit back. We’ve had some big games with Wasps over the years and the rivalry is there because we have both been very successful.”

Tom Croft is ruled out by a knee injury, and Tigers are also without Martin Castrogiovanni, Lucas Amorosino, Richard Blaze, Geordan Murphy, Dan Hipkiss, Julian White and Ben Woods.

Harry Ellis, Sam Vesty and Billy Twelvetrees will make their comeback from injury in the Development XV match against Sale at Welford Road on Monday evening.
