Leicester Tigers trailed Bath 15-6 at half-time of today's Guinness Premiership game at a sold-out Welford Road.

Bath scored two first-half tries through forwards Stuart Hooper and Pieter Dixon, with fly-half Butch James adding a conversion and a penalty.

Tigers had taken an early lead through Derick Hougaard’s third-minute penalty, and the fly-half kicked a second 10 minutes before the break.

Tigers welcomed Geordan Murphy, Ben Kay and Hougaard back from injury for their first game of 2009. Murphy returned at full-back, Kay partnered captain Martin Corry in the second row and Hougaard replaced Toby Flood at fly-half, who was rested as part of the England Elite Squad agreement. Scott Hamilton and Jordan Crane were late withdrawals from the side, with Johne Murphy and Craig Newby stepping up from the replacements bench and Brett Deacon and Tom Varndell being added to the matchday 22.

Former Tigers scrum-half Scott Bemand started in the Bath XV, while England pair Lee Mears and Matt Stevens were rested under the Elite Squad Agreement.
