Jordan Olowofela speaks to LTTV after winning the LeoVegasSportUK Fans' Favourite award with 37% of the vote via the Tigers App in the bonus-point win over Exeter Chiefs at Welford Road in Round 2 of the Premiership Rugby Cup.
Speaking in the Tigers changing room at Welford Road, Olowofela was happy with his own performance and in getting through his return to match action after his 2018/19 season ended prematurely with a shoulder injury.
"I'm very happy with that ... obviously it's my first game back from injury as well, so I wanted a good performance to see where I'm at," he told LTTV.
When asked how the shoulder held up, Olowofela replied: "No problems, it was all good."
The Tigers Academy graduate spent much off the summer training alone as he worked his way back to full fitness, before being injected in to the squad's programme towards the latter end of the schedule.
"I've slowly been building up to match fitness, so I have just been gradually training," he said.
Not one for many words, the 21-year-old summed up the words from the Tigers coaching staff at full-time in just one sentence.
"We just need to build on top of that performance," said Olowofela.
Looking back on his try in the bonus-point victory, the Tigers speedster said: "We pinned them down there for a few phases ... Kyle controlled it really well, they shortened up and he sent the pass out."
Olowofela was also impressed with the contribution and performance of new recruit Noel Reid in his first outing with the Irish international for Leicester.
"He was class today, he got things going really well," said Olowofela of his new team-mate.
The Tigers youngster is now hoping to spend more time in the matchday squad, especially with England international Jonny May in Japan for the Rugby World Cup.
"Especially with Jonny May away, I want to take his left wing spot," he said with a smile.
