Ed Slater has thanked the Leicester Tigers London and South East Supporters Club after being voted their player of the season.
Slater, who captained the team in the final third of the season, finished ahead of his Tigers teammates after receiving more than a third of the vote from the fan’s group.
The Tigers lock forward is currently on England’s tour to New Zealand and took to Twitter to say: “Thank you guys. Keep up the good work.”
Slater is the second recipient of the award, following last season’s winner Tom Youngs.
The Leicester Tigers London and South East Supporters Club allows exiled supporters to meet socially once a month and discuss everything Tigers.
Aims of the group include attending fixtures in convoy and sharing travel costs, to identify pubs and bars in Central London where Tigers games will be shown and to arrange Tigers events in the capital/south-east.
