With the majority of the seating deck now in place, as well as the steelwork, redevelopment work at Welford Road is providing a backdrop to the match action at Welford Road.Supporters have been able to assess progress during matches against Argentina, Newcastle Falcons and Loughborough University already this season and will have another opportunity when Leicester Tigers host Sale Sharks in the final game of the Kings of the North next Saturday.
The concrete seating deck is nearing completion, lift tower and staircases in place, steelwork in place for the main part of the roof and the brickwork facing Aylestone Road also now visible.
The new stand will house 3,000 seats upon completion, including a Clubhouse season ticket lounge, supporter concourse and staff offices.
Tigers are working closely with contractors Buckingham, project managers FWP and architects AFL, while supporters can follow progress on the club website, with photo galleries, webcams and virtual reality tour. Click here to see more.
The new stand will not be available during pre-season or for the opening home game in the Aviva Premiership, against Harlequins on October 25 but the club is also working closely with the contractors to have seats available for the fixture against Wasps on November 1, with food kiosks, bars and toilets provided in an enclosed area outside the turnstiles while work on the interior of the stand continues.
Admission to the Kings of the North fixture against Sale Sharks on Saturday (3pm kick-off) are included in Tigers season tickets.
All season ticket holders should use their existing cards for both of this game and will receive new cards to use for the opening Aviva Premiership match against Harlequins on Sunday, October 25.
Any new season ticket holders and also existing season ticket holders who have relocated seats or changed price category (e.g. Young Adult to Adult, or Adult to 65-plus) should have already received printed match tickets for Saturday.
For all other supporters, match tickets are on sale from the Tigers ticket office.
Supporters with season tickets in the new West Stand have been sent tickets for other parts of the stadium for these fixtures.
The Holland & Barrett Stand is subject to a reduced capacity until completion of redevelopment work due to the loss of turnstiles at the Aylestone Road end and the location of the safety control box on the terrace. All supporters will be directed to turnstiles at the Welford Road End.
On matchday, a team of supervisors will be located at the turnstiles and Tigers Gameskeepers will be around the stadium to assist with any queries.
Book your match tickets now at the Tigers ticket office, in person at the Club Store at Welford Road, phone 0116 319 8888 or click here to book online.
