Leicester Tigers have a busy weekend of match action with men’s and women’s teams in pre-season fixtures as well as kicking off a new campaign in the Academy Under-18 League.
The Tigers Academy set the ball rolling with a derby game against Northampton Saints in the first round of the Academy Under-18 League. Kick-off at Oval Park is at 2.00pm this afternoon (Friday). Supporters are welcome but please note there is no on-site parking available.
Steve Borthwick’s senior team then run out for their first game of the pre-season programme, against Championship club Jersey Reds, at 5.00pm at the Stade Santander International in St Peter.

Tigers return to home territory for a second pre-season fixture on Friday, August 26 (7.00pm) when Newcastle Falcons are the visitors to Mattioli Woods Welford Road. This Sunday, the women’s team begin their build-up to an historic first season in league competition with a trip to Premiership outfit Bristol Bears in a pre-season meeting (11.30am kick-off).
The Leicester Tigers Wheelchair Rugby Team are in league action this weekend in the final round of the WR5s at Stoke Mandeville.
The Tigers team, supported by club partners Häfele, face the host team in their opening game on Sunday and then West Country Hawks, Ospreys and local rivals Northampton Saints in this round of competition.
