Leicester Tigers and Sale Sharks meet in the LV= Cup at Welford Road on Sunday. Kick-off is at 3.15pm and tickets are available now.
Both teams won their opening game in this season’s Anglo-Welsh knockout competition, with a young Tigers side triumphing 17-16 at London Irish, while Sale showed their intentions with a try bonus in a 32-29 victory over Wasps.
The LV= Cup provides a development opportunity for young players in senior company, with Tigers giving debuts in the first round to recent signings Tommy Bell and Jack Roberts as well as development squad players Jake Farnworth, Oli Bryant and Ed Milne.
The experienced core to the side was provided by try-scorers Miles Benjamin and Robert Barbieri plus Matt Smith, Adam Thompstone and team captain Sam Harrison.
Tigers are expected to include international prop Dan Cole in the squad this weekend on his return from a neck injury which has kept him out of action since the Six nations period last February.
The Tigers roadshow vehicle, known as The Maul, hosts the Speed Pass Challenge and fan photobooth on the plaza ahead of kick-off.
The Junior Tigers Club VIP area in the MET-Rx Stand is open for two hours ahead of kick-off each week with activities and competitions for young supporters, including the opportunity to run out with Welford the mascot as a Tiger Cub or even join the players as a matchday mascot. Membership is free and you can sign up on Sunday.
Turnstiles and all bars and food kiosks at Welford Road open at 1.15pm and the Tigers Club Store is open all day with the full range of home and away kit, leisurewear and souvenirs. There are extra merchandise units in the MET-Rx Stand after the turnstiles are opened.
The new 500-page Official History of Leicester Tigers is available to buy in Final Whistle before and after the game. This is the definitive history of the club with season stats, player biographies, full history from 1880 and an encyclopaedia section full of facts and figures.
Sunday’s match programme includes an interview with recent signings Tommy Bell and Jack Roberts, plus news and views from inside the Tigers camp, an LV= Cup guide and some of your feedback in the fanzone pages. The programme is on sale throughout the stadium, price £3.
At half-time one young supporter will face the club mascot in Challenge Welford on the pitch, and half-time entertainment also includes The Big Boot, sponsored by De Montfort University.
Arriva’s special matchday bus services are in operation on five routes, from Market Bosworth, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, Oakham and Nuneaton, and there is also a separate minibus service from Coalville. Click here for pick-up points, timetable and fare details.
Pool-round fixtures in the LV= Cup are included in Tigers season tickets. For all other supporters, match tickets are available now.
