Matchday stadium access information

Figure image
There are a number of alterations to stadium entry systems for the new season at Welford Road, including a new access system on the turnstiles in time for the opening match in the Aviva Premiership campaign. The new access control system, run by Fortress, will affect all turnstiles and entry points, including accessible entrances and corporate areas. It also provides more convenience for supporters in all areas, including the new West Stand.   Season ticket holders will have the option to upload a barcode for each game on to their smart phone to gain access.   Supervisors at each block of turnstiles will be able to investigate any problems and determine a course of action, therefore cutting down on the number of supporters needing to visit the ticket office with admission queries.   The new system will also assist corporate guests, especially those who previously have had to distribute tickets to their own guests. Rather than being allocated wristbands or tickets which have to be forwarded with instructions to guests – and recycled if someone is then unable to get to a game – the new system will allow one central contact in your party to log on to web portal and send out an email invitation to guests. They can then accept and print at home, or if they are unable to attend, you can forward the invitation to someone else.   The new system also presents opportunities for the future, including the ability to load money on to your own season card and use as e-cash at the stadium.   The new system will be in place for the opening league game of the season, against Harlequins on October 25.   All season ticket holders should use their existing card for the pre-season fixtures against Newcastle Falcons (September 19), Loughborough University (October 3) and Sale Sharks (October 10).   Season ticket holders will receive new cards following the Kings of the North fixture against Sale Sharks on October 10 to use from the opening league match against Harlequins.   Any new season ticket holders and any existing season ticket holders who have relocated seats or changed price category (e.g. Young Adult to Adult, or Adult to 65-plus) will receive printed match tickets for the Kings of the North games and Loughborough University fixture.   If you have changed any of your contact details, please inform the Tigers ticket office by Friday, September 11 so we can update our records and ensure you receive all of the necessary information in good time.   While work continues on the development of the West Stand, all supporters who have bought season tickets in that area will be allocated positions in other parts of the stadium for the Kings of the North and Loughborough University fixtures as well as the opening two home league games against Harlequins and Wasps. Tickets will be posted to you in good time for these fixtures.   The Holland & Barrett Stand will be subject to a reduced capacity until completion of redevelopment work due to the loss of turnstiles at the Aylestone Road end of the stand. All supporters will be directed to turnstiles at the Welford Road End.   Also, additional Goldsmiths Stand turnstiles will be in place at Gate 23 at that end of the stadium as well as two existing turnstiles.   The stadium’s safety control box is currently located on the corner of the terrace and the ticket office will contact any supporters in the Holland & Barrett Stand blocks R and S if this causes sight restrictions in the early fixtures.
