Leicester Tigers fly-half George Ford has been announced as an ambassador for the Matt Hampson Foundation.
George has been a big supporter of the Foundation which supports young people seriously injured in sport and was delighted to be asked by Matt Hampson OBE to officially get involved as an ambassador.
“It was a huge honour to be asked by Matt to become an ambassador for the Foundation,” said Ford who is currently on Six Nations duty with the England squad.
“I’ve seen the charity grow over the last few years and the guys have big plans moving forward at the Get Busy Living centre so it’s an exciting time to get involved.
"The work they do is so important, and it’s been recently highlighted to me by the support they have given my team-mate Taylor Gough and his family since his accident in July. It was devastating for us all at the club to hear that news but, because of our close links with the Foundation, it was reassuring to know that there is a support network which will be there for him as he continues his rehabilitation.”
The Matt Hampson Foundation is an official charity of the Leicester Tigers.
