Melton Country Fair hits the spot

Hundreds of Leicester Tigers fans joined club mascot Welford for fun in the sun at the Melton Mowbray Country Fair.

The sun shone and temperatures soared at the fair in Melton’s Town Estates Park on Sunday.

Welford turned his paws to archery, rock climbing and even had a go on the giant inflatable slide. He also met scores of Tigers cubs and fans.

Visitors to The Maul, the Tigers roadshow vehicle, were able to have their photo taken with the Aviva Premiership Trophy. They could also take on the Speed Pass Challenge and see what they look like as the cover star on the Tigers matchday programme with our giant cardboard cut-out.

Another busy week lies ahead for the roadshow team and for Welford.

Tigers are taking the Aviva Premiership trophy on tour to see some of our friends in London on Tuesday. It will visit club sponsors StubHub and Chester Barrie before joining fans at the monthly meeting of the Leicester Tigers London & South East Supporters Group at their new venue of O'Neills in Soho from 6.30pm.

The roadshow team will be at Loughborough Rugby Club on Saturday for a rugby festival in aid of the Robbie Anderson Cancer Trust and the Jake McCarthy Foundation. A day of 10s rugby provides the focal point and there will be a barbecue, bouncy castle, refreshments and gift stands and the Tigers community team are holding an Aviva tag tournament and you can take on the Speed Pass Challenge.
