Mermoz arrives at Leicester Tigers

Maxime Mermoz has arrived at Leicester Tigers after completing his move to Welford Road.

Tigers yesterday confirmed the signing of the France international centre for the rest of the season.
Tigers agreed terms with the 30-year-old Mermoz after losing both Matt Toomua and Manu Tuilagi to long-term injury this season and received official clearance from the French Rugby Federation for his move to Welford Road.

Mermoz was introduced to his new teammates on Wednesday and was then shown around the club’s Oval Park training facility on Thursday morning when he met members of staff and picked up his new kit.

Mermoz gained the first of 35 Test caps in 2008 and won league titles with Toulouse and Perpignan before moving to Toulon where he shared in their European Cup triumphs of 2013 and 2014 as well as securing another league winner's medal.

He could make his Welford Road debut in the Aviva Premiership clash against Gloucester Rugby on Saturday, February 11. Match tickets are available now on 0116 319 8888 (option 2), online by clicking here and in person from the Welford Road ticket office.
