Midweek date for Bristol trip

Leicester Tigers will travel to face Bristol Rugby for their re-arranged Guinness Premiership fixture on Tuesday, April 24 (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Round 21 match was originally scheduled for Sunday, April 15 but Tigers are now in the EDF Energy Cup Final against Ospreys at Twickenham on that date. The Bristol match will be played at Ashton Gate Stadium, home of Bristol City FC.

Premier Rugby's rugby manager, Phil Winstanley, said: "Midweek rugby is something we have always shied away from and will continue to do so, however it really is the last resort on this occasion. Our season has been compressed by two weeks this year due to Rugby World Cup and this has impacted on the number of weekends available to us.
"I know both clubs will work with their players to ensure that they are managed appropriately during the end-of-season run in."

Tigers face a hectic April due to their cup success, as they follow Good Friday's Guinness Premiership trip to Sale Sharks with the EDF Energy Cup Final, then go to the Walkers Stadium for the Heineken Cup semi-final against Llanelli Scarlets on Saturday, April 21 before facing Bristol away on Tuesday, April 24 and hosting London Wasps in the final game of the regular league season on Saturday, April 28.
