The Guinness Premiership has teamed up with official betting and gaming partner, Coral.co.uk, to create the first official Guinness Premiership Fantasy Game.

Thanks to the support of Coral.co.uk, the game will be free to play, with the winner walking away with £5,000 in cash and a VIP trip to the Guinness Premiership Final. Runner-up prizes include LCD televisions, mp3 players, games consoles and signed club merchandise.

Every player in the Guinness Premiership is included in the game, with supporters awarded 80 'stars' to assemble their dream XV.

Points are awarded for tries, penalties and drop goals scored in the Guinness Premiership, but also on the basis of how long players spend on the field and whether their team win, lose or draw.

After selecting an initial XV, entrants can make up to two changes per month to take advantage of Guinness Premiership players at the peak of their form.

Everyone registering to play will be entered in the main game, but also automatically entered into a mini-league depending on the Guinness Premiership club they support. Players can also enter a further mini-league comprising friends or work colleagues for example.

Jon Duckworth, head of marketing and promotions at Premier Rugby, said: "I think the first official Guinness Premiership Fantasy Game will create real excitement among our fans.

"The Guinness Premiership is the most competitive club league in the world and I think fans playing the fantasy game will find that just as tough as the real thing.

"With a host of young English players making their name in the Guinness Premiership, as well as top-class overseas Test players joining at the peak of their career, team selections will no doubt be the subject of plenty of debate up and down the country."

Clive Cottrell, head of marketing for Coral.co.uk, added: "We are delighted to be involved with the Official Guinness Premiership Fantasy Game. Fantasy games are all about having an opinion and backing your judgement, which are some of the key motives behind betting. The game should create season-long excitement and promote further passionate discussion and debate between rugby supporters up and down the country.

"We will, of course, be providing game players with a comprehensive range of Guinness Premiership betting opportunities to complement their enjoyment of the game."
