Owen: It's good to be back

Gareth Owen says it felt "good to be back" when the Leicester Tigers centre spoke to LTTV after the Champions Cup clash with Racing 92.

The Welshman said the side were "disappointed" with the result and had "plenty of opportunities" throughout the match, but he was personally pleased after playing his first full 80 minutes since joining the club last summer.

"I did enjoy it today - it's good to be back out on the pitch," Owen said. "I just want to play rugby. Once I can get a good run of games together the body will become accustomed to the knocks and bumps."

Speaking from the Welford Road changing rooms, Owen also felt that the match was controlled by one factor neither teams could influence – the weather.

"It pretty much defined the game, there was a lot of kicking and handling errors," Owen said. "It was very cold. At some points, I am pretty sure Nick Malouf and Jonny May were shivering!"
