In the other match on day two of the tournament, Samoa scored six tries in a 34-15 defeat of Japan at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka, though Leicester Tigers wing Alesana Tuilagi was not included after playing in the opening game.
The Junior All Blacks top the standings with nine points from two games, three points ahead of Samoa.
In the next round of fixtures on Tuesday, the Samoans line up against Tonga and Japan face the Junior All Blacks.
