Parling's second win with Saxons

Geoff Parling made it two wins from two in his England Saxons career with a 31-5 win over Italy A in Treviso on Sunday.

Making his first start at this level after a second-half appearance as a replacement in last weekend’s win over Ireland A, Leicester Tigers second row Parling played his part as the Saxons came back from 5-0 down at half-time to claim the victory.

Miles Benjamin (Worcester Warriors), Alex Goode (Saracens) and David Strettle (Harlequins) claimed scores, and there was also a penalty try.

Coach Stuart Lancaster said: "It was a tough first half. Italy did very well, they scored a good try and we needed to break them down. We changed in the second half to a more high-tempo game.

"We've worked hard with this group of players and I'm pleased with the way they came back in the second half.

“It shows the quality we have and strength in depth of players that didn't have an opportunity last week but came through this week. And the result is through their hard work."
