Leicester Tigers players raised money for charity during a bake-off challenge.

Players from the Tigers development squad made cakes and biscuits in the kitchen at the colub training ground at Oval Park before selling their wares.

The players were split into two teams, one raising money for the Matt Hampson Foundation and the other working on behalf of Restart, the Official Charity of the RPA, which supports players forced to end their career through illness or injury.

Team Restart made £126 while the Matt Hampson Foundation team raised £240 to win the challenge. Their cause was boosted by a visit by Joe Maksymiw, Will Owen and Ben White the staff offices at Welford Road, where they sold their gingerbread men. HSBC are to double the funds raised taking the total to more than £730, while Four Shires Farm Shop in Seckington supplied the eggs for the bake-off

Meanwhile, the losing team had to cook dinner for the winners by way of a forfeit.
