Tatafu Polota-Nau has returned to Leicester Tigers after a short-term loan with the Waratahs.
The Australian international hooker returned to his former franchise in New South Wales at the start of this month as injury cover, and gained valuable game time against both the Reds and Brumbies on Super Rugby duty.
Head coach Geordan Murphy confirmed to reporters on Tuesday: “Taf is back. He’s had a bit of game time with the Waratahs and he’ll be available for this weekend.”
Polota-Nau will return to selection among Tigers’ two other international hookers in the form of Jake Kerr and club captain Tom Youngs in time for the Gallagher Premiership match against Northampton Saints this Friday (March 22, 7.45pm).
Waratahs head coach and former Tigers centre Daryl Gibson added: “Our team is very grateful to Tatafu and Leicester Tigers for helping us fill a short term injury cover.
“We entered a loan arrangement always knowing Leicester would want him back in England in the near future.
“Tatafu slotted back into the squad with such ease and was a big contributor for the squad. It also gave Tatafu the chance to show Aussie selectors how he’s progressing ahead of the World Cup.”
