Post-match bars open at next home game

Leicester Tigers will be marking the club’s next home game against Bristol Bears in the Gallagher Premiership (April 27, 3.00pm) looking back at 40 years since the club’s first-ever John Player Cup win in 1979.

A game that kick-started the club’s dominance in the competition for the following 1979/80 and 1980/81 finals, Tigers will be putting on a number of activities for fans across the stadium

Meet The ‘Droglites’

More than 20 former Tigers who played in each of the finals will be joining fans for the fixture chatting in the hospitality suites pre-match before heading over to The Droglites Bar in the Mattioli Woods stand after the final whistle.

The ‘Droglites’ (an anagram of Old Tigers) will be honoured on the pitch at half-time with the John Player cup with fans welcome to join them in The Droglites Bar for a pint and chat.

Watch the '79 John Player Cup final

The ABC and Crumbie Lounge bars will also be recognising the anniversary transforming into a sports bar showing actual footage from the 1979 John Player Cup fixture.

The game will be shown in full post-match, with the chance to watch video highlights, interviews, tries as well as a Q&A with a Tigers player. Post-match food will also be available.

Wind down in the new TigerBar marquee

If it is food, drink and a chilled atmosphere with your friends you’re after on matchday, then make your way out to our new TigerBar located on the Plaza in our heated marque.

With its own bar and food on offer, it’s a great place to chat about the match with both home and away fans. You never know, Tigers past and present may come and join you.

Rock out in The Final Whistle

Music fans don’t worry. Resident band Rock Bottom will be performing live after the match in The Final Whistle bar in the Holland & Barrett stand. From rock classics to your pop favourites, the band have been playing at Tigers home games for more years than they would like to admit.

Pop on down and join in the afterparty.
