Premiership Rugby clarify season's fixtures

Premiership Rugby has today announced a revised fixture list for the second half of the season, which starts with the New Year matches in Round 14.

Designed to create minimal disruption to the original list – following the suspension of Worcester Warriors and Wasps – the fixture list now guarantees five matches each round, with one team having a bye each weekend.

Following these changes, Leicester Tigers will now kick off the new year with a trip to Newcastle Falcons on January 7, with the home derby against Northampton Saints now listed as a 2.00pm kick-off on Saturday, January 28 following two rounds of Heineken Champions Cup action.

Tickets for the derby date with Northampton will be available to season ticket holders seeking extra tickets for friends and family, and to super members and members only from 9.00am this Saturday (November 12). Book online or call 0116 319 8888 (option 2). The office phone lines are open 9.00am-5.00pm, and online services are available all day.

General sales to all other supporters begin at 9.00am on Monday (November 14).

Prices start from £25 adult and £13 Under-18.

Ticket sales details for other fixtures in new year will be confirmed in due course.

Saracens, Bath Rugby, Bristol Bears, Exeter Chiefs and Harlequins are also due to visit Mattioli Woods Welford Road in the second half of the league programme.

All home games in the regular league programme and pool stages of cup competitions are included in Tigers season tickets.

Half Season Tickets, including entry to 7 men’s games and 3 women’s fixtures in the new year, are available now from the Tigers ticket office with prices from just £150 adults, £50 under-18s.

Simon Massie-Taylor, Premiership Rugby’s chief executive, said: "Restructuring the fixture list has allowed us to create a better narrative in the second half of the season, ensuring five Gallagher Premiership Rugby matches are played on each weekend. The new list also reduces the number of bye weeks for teams and the stop/start challenge for some clubs created by the unfortunate issues at Wasps and Worcester Warriors. I am aware that this has created some real challenges for some of our clubs but I’d like to thank them for agreeing to these changes.”
