The Rugby Players' Association hosted a business networking evening for members of the Leicester Tigers squad as part of the RPA's Player Development Programme.Facilitated by employee engagement consultancy, Purple Monster, and hosted at The Exchange, Leicester, the programme is designed to support RPA members in their personal and professional development and provide them with the skills needed to make a successful transition into life after rugby.   Purple Monster offered to give Tigers’ players the opportunity to enhance their network of business contacts within local industries.   Tigers RPA representative Scott Hamilton said: “The event has been a fantastic experience and has allowed the boys to meet an entirely new network of contacts that could potentially help when it comes to looking at career options away from rugby.   “I’d like to say thank you on behalf of the squad to the RPA and Purple Monster for putting together an extremely beneficial evening.”   Robin Fritz of Purple Monster said: “Our brief was to facilitate a networking event with a difference and we have relished the opportunity to do that and in the process, introduce members of the Tigers squad to the local business community here in Leicester.   “It’s a pleasure to see so many of them being pro-active about their futures and we hope the introductions they have made help with their post-rugby career choices.”   Lynsey Ward, RPA senior player development manager for Tigers, said: “I’m so proud of the players. It’s great to see so many of them exploring their post-rugby career options. Their careers can be extremely short so it’s vital they take advantage of the opportunities the PDP presents and begin to put plans in place for their lives after rugby.”
