Scarratt hails Tigers Family support

Emily Scarratt has praised the support for England from the Tigers Family as they chase a title in the women's Six Nations.

Leicestershire-born Scarratt scored two first-half tries and kicked two conversions and two penalties in England’s 35-3 victory over Wales last weekend.

It was England’s third win from four games and left them third in the table behind leaders France, who have a 100 per cent winning record from their four games, and behind Ireland only on points difference.

England complete their campaign against Italy in Rovato near Brescia in northern Italy on Sunday while France and Ireland go head-to-head in Pau on Friday evening.

They require an Ireland victory at Stade du Hameau and then need to overhaul Ireland’s +9 points difference and France’s +47 points difference.

And Scarratt, who grew up in Desford, played at Leicester Forest and went to school at Bosworth College, says that regardless of the final outcome that England are grateful for the support they have received.

“The support I get from back home is really good, throughout the campaign and the training periods,” says Tigers fan Scarratt, who moves from full-back to centre for the game when she will win her 50th cap.

“I’ve had a lot of support from people who go to the Tigers. I have had a lot of love from the Leicestershire rugby family on Twitter, my old club, it’s really good.

“Rugby is a huge part of Leicestershire with the Tigers and stuff, and it’s nice to be a part of that,” she told Talking Rugby.
