Scouts enjoy matchday at Welford Road

Scout groups from across Leicestershire joined a big matchday crowd at Welford Road for Leicester Tigers’ annual Scouts Day.

More than 700 beavers, cubs, scouts and their leaders made the trip to for a day of activities around the Aviva Premiership game against Worcester Warriors.

Leicestershire Scouts had a stall and climbing wall situated on the plaza outside the Holland & Barrett Stand, as well as a special scouts badge for groups to collect.

Tigers also welcomed Scouts flag bearers onto the pitch ahead of kick off to welcome the teams on to the pitch.

Adrian Wray, county secretary for Leicestershire Scouts, said: “We were promoting Leicestershire scouting with our big climbing wall and activities on stand for kids and adults.

“We were expecting more than 700 scouts, which is a fantastic turn out, and all involved will be collecting their Leicester Tigers Scouts Day badge which they can add to their uniform.

“We had a lot going on and it’s great to continue our relationship with the club. I’ve been involved for five years, but I know Tigers Scouts Days have been happening for many years.

“Some of the Tigers players may even have been Scouts so we hope to continue to build our links for years to come.”
