The sun shone on schoolchildren as they brought the Aviva Tackling Numbers programme to an end with a festival of rugby.

Leicester Tigers community coaches have been bringing maths to life with the help of practical, number-based rugby games.

The coaches have been working with Key Stage 2 children in Leicestershire schools to make numbers fun, exciting and rewarding.

The Aviva Tackling Numbers programme programme ended on Friday afternoon with a tag rugby festival at Vipers RFC in Whetstone.

It was attended by pupils from Blaby Stokes, Willesley, Krishna Avanti, St John the Baptist, Rowlatt Hills and Stokeswood schools.

Laurence Walters, Tigers rugby development officer, said: “It was a great day. The shone and everyone had a really good time at the festival – the smiles on the children’s faces was priceless.”
