Sell-out crowd, Easter fun and a win over rivals

A sell-out crowd of 25,849 made the visit to Welford Road as a late George Ford penalty snatched a win for Tigers over rivals Wasps to cap off a super-Sunday of matchday action.

There was plenty going on ahead of kick-off at Welford Road with live music and entrainment from local groups Mansfield Avenue and the Gabhru Panjab Debhangra dancers on the plaza.

Club mascot Welford welcomed fans to the ground and there were huge inflatable games plus an Easter-egg hunt and prizes for Junior Tigers Club members to get fans in the mood.

Supporters also had the opportunity to have their photos taken with the Aviva Premiership trophy on the plaza, whilst six U10s rugby teams took part in the Prima Cup Finals festival on the Welford Road pitch ahead of kick-off.

Tigers welcomed 11 youth teams onto the pitch at half-time for a photo as part of their matchday coaching clinic and lucky Tigers Times season ticket holders took part in the guard of honour as the players made their way onto the pitch.

After the final whistle, resident band Rock Bottom entertained fans in the Final Whistle Bar in the Holland & Barrett Stand and fans shared their favourite snaps on social media.

With just two scheduled home games left at Welford Road this season, tickets are already in high demand.
