Slo Progress make music for Matt

Tigers stars Dan Hipkiss, Ayoola Erinle, Ollie Smith and Sam Vesty, will use their musical talents to raise funds for the Matt Hampson Trust at the beginning of next month.

The Tigers team-mates will be performing as Slo Progress at the Mason and Brooke pub in Oadby on Tuesday, May 6. The unique gig kicks off at 7pm and is expected to finish at approximately 9.30pm.

The band will also be joined on stage for exclusive cameo performances from Martin Corry, George Chuter and Aaron Mauger.

Sam, who plays guitar in the four-piece band, hopes the gig will provide some light entertainment for Tigers supporters, and the band themselves, while raising some much-needed cash for Matt.

“Music has always been a massive love of mine outside of rugby,” said Sam. “I’ve always enjoyed watching live music and to get the chance to get up on stage is something I’m really looking forward to.

“As well as being a good laugh, we’re hoping for a big turn out so we can raise as much cash as possible for Hambo. To see Chutes playing the sax has got to be worth the entrance fee alone!”

The event is sponsored by Guinness, who will also be making a sizeable donation to Matt’s trust. In addition, everyone who buys a ticket will receive a free pint of Guinness beer.

Keep your eyes on this website, as well as www.matthampson.co.uk for further event details. Tickets will also be available at Matt’s official website.
