The Leicester Tigers community department has joined forces with South Leicestershire College to provide a superb opportunity for teenagers to continue their education on and off the rugby pitch.

As part of the South Leicestershire College Academy of Sport, students aged 16-19 can enrol in the college and take part in rugby coaching from Tigers while continuing their studies for nationally recognised qualifications.

South Leicestershire College has a wide range of courses and has specifically designed the curriculum to allow for up to 10 hours per week rugby coaching and games.

Tigers community manager Scott Clarke said: “We are extremely excited at the opportunity this new joint venture will give to many young rugby players across the Tigers region.

“The Tigers community department works very hard to encourage youngsters to achieve using sport as the catalyst and we feel this new Rugby Academy at South Leicestershire College will help those who may be looking for inspiration and direction to move their prospects forward.”
