The Staffordshire side beat North Walsham of Norfolk 1-0 in the last four at Welford Road on Sunday to set up a final showdown with Stamford, who were 3-0 winners over Lutterworth in the other semi-final.
And it was Stoke who claimed a 3-1 victory to become the second winners of the Prima Tiger Bowl. They were presented on the pitch with the Fenton Bowl, the silverware which has been named after Tigers community stalwart Laurence Fenton.
David Boughey, minis and juniors chairman at Stoke RFC, said: “They had a terrific day and winning makes it extra special.
“The lads had a super time, to play two games on the Welford Road pitch and to win the Prima Tiger Bowl is fantastic.”
The Prima Tiger Bowl was launched last season due to the growth of the Prima Tiger Cup – the national competition for under-10s teams hosted by Tigers and supported by Loughborough-based Prima Solutions. It sees four teams who narrowly missed out on reaching the knock-out stages enjoy their chance to run out at Welford Road.
Stamford Under-10s head coach Sean Carlton said he was proud of his players after their showing.
“It was a great day,” he said. “I am chuffed to bits for the boys that they enjoyed the chance to play at Welford Road.
“I was proud of them and what they did. I couldn’t have asked for any more but the better side won on the day.”
Oakham will face Old Coventrians in the final of the Prima Tiger Cup.
Oakham edged their semi-final with Norfolk’s Wymondham 4-3 while Old Coventrians, from Coventry, saw off Sutton Coldfield 4-0.
Old Coventrtians head coach Alan Warwood said: “They played well and I am very proud of the boys. Sutton Coldfield are quite a physical side and we matched them up front. “
James Cooper, the Oakham coach, said: “The players are absolutely ecstatic. It was a really special day for the players, all of the supporters and the coaches.”
The Prima Tiger Cup final will be played at Welford Road as a curtain-raiser to Tigers’ Aviva Premiership Rugby clash with Saracens on Saturday, March 5.
