Support Help For Heroes

Richard Cockerill says the Leicester Tigers Academy will be in for a tough test when they take on the British Army Development XV in support of Help For Heroes today.

The game, which kicks off at 7.45pm, is part of a double header at Welford Road and follows the Guinness Premiership fixture between Tigers and Northampton Saints.

Cockerill said: “The Academy are always looking for tough games and I think they will get one!

“It is great for the club to support Help For Heroes, which is a fantastic charity. We talk about our guys being brave but there are guys out there who are 18 and 19 risking their lives every day.

“Anything you can do to support them is superb and in our small way we will do that.”

A number of tickets for the double header, which begins at 5.35pm with the East Midlands derby between Tigers and Saints, are still available from the Tigers ticket office at Welford Road on 0844 856 1880.

The Parachute Regiment band will be in attendance to add to the entertainment during the afternoon, performing before the main game and again before the Academy match, and supporters can buy Help For Heroes wristbands from volunteers based around the stadium.

Help for Heroes has no affiliation with any political party and all money raised is used to support wounded Servicemen and women. For more information, or to make a donation online, see the website at www.helpforheroes.org.uk
