Rain failed to dampen the spirits at the sixth annual Tigers in the Park.
To celebrate the start of the new season and the success of British athletes at the Olympic Games, Tigers brought a taste of the Rio Carnival to the opening home game of the campaign.
Based on Nelson Mandela Park, opposite the stadium and on the Plaza at Welford Road, supporters were able to enjoy a series of activities and entertainment at the free event – despite heavy rain from the start.
The Olympic Park featured tennis, archery, tag rugby and Tigers Wheelchair Rugby masterclasses and demonstrations. The Copacabana Beach area featured inflatable beach volleyball, surf simulator, bouncy castle, inflatable slide and obstacle course.
The 'Samba Stage' features live music from The Ellipsis, The Black Eagles, Samba band Sambando and the Original Movements Dance Group with their Rio Carnival performance plus our Battle of the Bands winners Dynamite Dynamite.
