Tigers lifted the Guinness Premiership trophy at Twickenham in May to collect a record eighth league title and they begin their defence of that silverware with two away games before welcoming Newcastle Falcons to Welford Road on Saturday, September 19 (5.35pm kick-off).
The new 10,000-seat Caterpillar Stand will be open for the first time on that day and Tigers intend to mark the event with some special events and attractions as well as giving the team a rousing reception.
Richard Cockerill starts a season as head coach for the first time, summer signings including Anthony Allen, Joe Duffey, Geoff Parling and James Grindal will hope to earn a role in the opening home game, while the entire squad will hope to build on the Championship-winning success of 2008/09 as they kick off a tough campaign.
An expanded capacity means Tigers can welcome even more supporters to the biggest club in the country, but do not delay because there is always great demand for tickets.

Tickets for the Newcastle Falcons game are priced £15 adults, £10 young adults and full-time students, and £5 juniors.
