Leicester Tigers Academy U17s continued the winning ways of the club's youngsters with a three-point, 19-22 away win over Saracens U17s at Allianz Park on Friday afternoon.
The young Tigers side trailed by two points, 14-12 at half-time after both teams scored twice in the first half but scored first in the second-half to take back the lead 19-12 with half an hour left to play.
Neither side managed to score a point for 20 minutes before the home side crossed for their third of the afternoon in the 57th minute but missed the conversion attempt to leave it level at 19-all with just over 10 minutes left on the clock.
Both coaching teams made wholesale changes in the final 10 minutes, in an attempt to break the game open and claim the lead but it was Tigers who got the chance with just two minutes remaining with a penalty within kicking range.
Tigers back Charlie Titcombe stepped up and successfully added the three points to take the game to 19-22, where it would stay until the final whistle.
