Leicester Tigers will recognise ‘Responsible Gambling Week’ alongside club partner LeoVegas and will wear the message on the back of the team’s alternative shorts in this weekend’s Gallagher Premiership fixture.
Tigers travel to London Irish on Sunday, November 10 (2.30pm) and LeoVegas Online Casino is replacing the LeoVegas logo on the Tigers’ shorts with the Responsible Gambling banner.
Responsible Gambling Week is a cross-industry initiative to promote safer gambling in the UK and Ireland. The aim is to create a dialogue with customers, staff, gambling operators and the wider public about gambling responsibly and driving awareness of the help available.
The industry-led campaign runs from November 7-13 and the club will auction off a handful of shorts worn this weekend and signed by the Leicester Tigers players.
The proceeds will be donated to the Gordon Moody Association - a unique and residential treatment programme for addicted gamblers - and LeoVegas Group partner.
LeoVegas is the premier GameTech company and is at the forefront of using state-of-the-art technology for mobile gaming. It is the second year running that the LeoVegas Group have backed Responsible Gambling Week.
Chris Rose, head of brand at Leicester Tigers, said: “LeoVegas are a great partner and we share the same goal of creating a safe and entertaining environment for our supporters and customers so when Leo approached us to promote their work during Responsible Gambling Week we were very pleased to get involved.”
LeoVegas will also host internal workshops at their head offices alongside a digital campaign for all Premiership Rugby matches this weekend. Additionally, the LeoVegas Group has a suite of innovative measures and initiatives available to all its customers.
One of these is LeoSafePlay, a robust tool that uses machine learning to create risk profiles using indicators associated with gambling-related harm. This is supported by manual reviews by the 24/7 Safer Gambling team who interact with customers through telephone, live chat and email, providing specialist information about the controls available.
