Tigers’ Kiwi players have had shirts signed by team-mates in the Leicester squad, which will be sold to the highest bidder to support the relief effort.
Hamilton and Newby have also signed and donated a pair of used and muddied boots while Waldrom, a former Canterbury Crusader, has signed and donated a brand new pair of boots for auction. Tigers team-mates Anthony Allen, Jordan Crane, Geoff Parling, Jeremy Staunton and club captain Geordan Murphy have also signed and donated used boots for auction.
Christchurch-born Hamilton, who has been capped twice by New Zealand and played for Canterbury Crusaders, said: “We wanted to do what we could to help and felt that this was a way we could show our support and aid the relief effort. Every little bit helps.”
Fellow All Black Newby added: “Our thoughts are with the people of New Zealand and Christchurch and we wanted to do something to help. Tigers fans and rugby supporters in general have been fantastic in their support and we hope that this can help in some way.”
The items will be auctioned online through the Official Leicester Tigers eBay account. The auctions will end on Sunday afternoon. To find out more, and to place your bid, click here
