The Leicester Tigers roadshow vehicle The Maul visited one of Leicestershire's most popular football tournaments last weekend.

The Khalsa Football Federation (KFF) tournament, which takes place at the home of GNG FC in Leicester, welcomed teams from across the Midlands.

Adults and children took part in a number of activities on The Maul including the Speed Pass Challenge and Tigers Tackle Bag.

Tigers have recently started working with GNG in providing a series of strength and conditioning sessions as well as introducing youngsters to rugby.

David McDonald, Tigers education manager who organises the sessions, said: “Our involvement in the tournament comes through a growing partnership with GNG FC. We’re committed to growing the profile of rugby in the local Asian community and give more opportunities for Asian men and woman to participate in sport.

“We’re currently delivering a 12- week programme of rugby sessions for GNG FC, exploring the fitness benefits that can be transferred between rugby and football.

“We hope to continue to develop our relationship over the coming months and years.”
