Tigers players joining next week’s Islander Christmas Party

Eleven Tigers stars will be joining fans at Welford Road for next week’s inaugural Tigers Islanders Christmas Party on Tuesday, December 18.

Trailblazing cult hero Freddie Tuilagi will be hosting a special evening celebrating the culture and Christmas traditions Tigers links to the southern hemisphere’s Pacific Islands.

His brother, Samoan born England and British Lions international star, Manu and son Fred, who has made seven appearances for Leicester Tigers, will be joined the Tongan quartet of Sione Kalamafoni, Valentino Mapapalangi, Telusa Veainu and David Feao, Fiji international Campese Ma'afu, Kiwi’s Mike Fitzgerald and Brendon O’Connor and Australia internationals Matt Toomua and Tatafu Polota-Nau.

Tickets are still available to the evening, which will include a Polynesian inspired buffet with traditional food from the region as well as a chance to meet and hear from Tigers players.

Fan favourite Freddie made 82 appearances in a Tigers shirt and was the first of the now synonymous Tuilagi family to wear the green, white and red jersey.

The Samoan made the jump from rugby league to union joining Tigers in 2000 from St Helens and was part of Tigers treble winning team of 2000/01 and successive European title the following year.

Made up of more than 1,000 islands across the Pacific Ocean, the players will have the chance to meet and mingle with fans as well as share more about Island life and rugby in the region in a Q&A.

Kicking off at 7.00pm until 11.00pm, tickets are priced at just £38 and are available to purchase until 5.30pm on Friday, December 14.
