Leicester Tigers returned to work today ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Players checked in for the beginning of pre-season training with the first session of the summer held on the University of Leicester pitches in Stoughton Road.

New signings such as Sione Kalamafoni, Jonah Holmes and Dominic Ryan were involved for their first session as Tigers players.

England internationals George Ford and Ellis Genge, meanwhile, are due to return to work later this month after their tour to Argentina. Dan Cole is with the British & Irish Lions preparing for the final decisive Test against the All Blacks in Auckland.

Tigers’ pre-season began with a series of rugby-based games under the watchful eye of head coach Matt O’Connor and his coaching team, before the first strength and conditioning session of the summer this afternoon.

The squad are building towards the new season, which starts on the weekend of September 2. The fixtures for the new season are released at 11am this Friday.

Tigers play pre-season fixtures at Welford Road against Benetton Treviso on Friday, August 18 and against Ospreys on Friday, August 25. Both games kick off at 7.45pm.

Match tickets are available now. Call 0116 319 8888 (option 2) or click here to book online.

The home pre-season fixtures are included in Tigers season tickets and there is still time to become a season ticket holder before the start of the season.

A 2017/18 season ticket also guarantees your place at all 18 home games of the regular season including the local derbies against Northampton Saints and Wasps, and the Champions Cup fixtures against Munster, Racing 92 and Castres Olympique and two Anglo-Welsh Cup fixtures.

Tigers have tried to make season tickets even more accessible, extending the Young Adult & Full-Time Student category, providing flexible family packages, freezing prices and offering supporters the ability to re-sell their ticket when they cannot make a game for any reason.

And Tigers have also put together Season Ticket Extras, teaming up with sponsors and friends of the club to give season ticket holders even better value for money with special offers and prize draws. Click here for more details.
