Leicester secured a try bonus point with five first-half tries against Viadana as Tigers led 35-3 at half-time of this afternoon's Heineken Cup game at Welford Road.

Dan Hipkiss got things going when he finished off Toby Flood’s simple pass in the sixth minute before Ben Woods added a second midway through the half when he reached Jordan Crane’s grubber.

Flood exploited an overlap to score the third before Scott Hamilton sprinted home from 60 metres out for the bonus point score. Hamilton added a second on half-time to finish off good interplay between Sam Vesty and Flood.

Flood enjoyed a 100 per cent kicking record, landing all five conversions, while Garry Law kicked the Viadana points with an early penalty.

Vesty was making his first start of the season after being sidelined for the start of the campaign with a hamstring injury. Alesana Tuilagi was recalled to a starting role on the wing. In the forwards, George Chuter returned at hooker, while Tom Croft and Woods were given starts in the back row. Aaron Mauger was selected among the replacements on his return from injury.
