Leicester Tigers’ Tigers Times winners enjoyed a host of prizes at Tigers Round 20 Gallagher Premiership match against Bristol Bears at Welford Road.
All season ticket holders were sent copies of the 20-page Tigers Times newspaper earlier this season, with the chance to enter a series of exclusive competitions.
Gail Stevenson-Freer was the lucky winner of four hospitality places in the Honours Suite of the Holland & Barrett Stand posing for a photo with members of the John Player Cup '79 team including Nick Joyce, Tim Barnwell, Steve Kenney and 'Dosser' Smith.
Deborah Stanstead bagged two hospitality places in the Directors Lounge in the Holland & Barrett Stand.
Shelia Johnson picked up a Tigers goodie bag and was invited onto the Welford Road pitch at half-time for a photo.
Ahead of matchday, season ticket holder Alessio Skyba-Lewin was the lucky name drawn to enjoy ‘Party in a box’ to watch the Tigers training session at Welford Road before the Bristol Bears match and was joined by his family.
“I’ve been a season ticket holder for four years, but been following the club for much longer”, Alessio says.
“We’re usually sat in the Holland & Barrett Stand, so we’ve never really been over this way near the boxes before. You get a fantastic view of the pitch up here.
“I’ve never seen the team training before, apart from the warm-ups before games, and I went to the same secondary school as Manu Tuilagi – so it’s fantastic to see someone who went to my college playing for my club.”
Dad Keith Lewin added: “It’s funny the club is celebration the John Player Cup anniversary as I was actually at each of the finals in 1979, ‘80 and ‘81.
“I remember Steve Kenney’s try vividly and all the fans just went running onto the pitch – it was an incredible day. I used to love watching Les Cusworth in full flow too.”
