Leicester Tigers will set a new record for the highest attendance for an Anglo-Welsh Cup pool fixture when they return to home turf next Saturday. The LV= Cup game against Northampton Saints at Welford Road is heading towards a 24,000 sell-out with the final few places on sale now from the Tigers ticket office, on 0116 319 8888 and online by clicking here.   A 24,000-crowd would represent the largest pool stage crowd since the inception of the Anglo-Welsh competition in 2005, eclipsing the 20,616 attendance for the visit of Bath Rugby to Welford Road last January. Indeed, the 14 biggest attendances for pool games in the competition have all been at Welford Road. It would also represent the largest crowd in the competition under its current sponsors LV=.   When semi-final and final attendances are included, 24,000 at Welford Road would rank 10th on the all-time Anglo-Welsh Cup list. The 2008 final at Twickenham between Tigers and Ospreys is the most attended fixture (65,756).   And with places at the game in high demand Tigers supporters are reminded to check on StubHub, the club’s official marketplace, for tickets. Or, if you are a season ticket holder unable to attend this game, you can offer your place via StubHub.
