Tigers trio in action for Nottingham this weekend

Tom Varndell, Owen Hills and Sam Lewis will feature for Nottingham in their away game against Jersey Reds in the Greene King IPA Championship.

Varndell, who is back in English rugby after returning to Tigers almost a decade after he last played for the club, has been named on the left wing for the game at the Stade Santander International after being dual registered in a bid to provide the former England international much needed game time.

Hills, who has struggled for match time after knee surgery in the opening weeks of the 2018/19 season, made his return to action in the Premiership Rugby Shield fixture alongside Varndell and Lewis on New Year's Eve at Loughborough University and will add important minutes from loose-head prop for Nottingham on Saturday.

Lewis, who made his England U20s debut last season, has been included among the replacements.

Speaking ahead of the game, Nottingham head coach Neil Fowkes said: “It’s been a boost to have the boys from Tigers join us too and I’m looking forward to seeing them kick on with the rest of the team."
