Tigers players Greg Bateman, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Valentino Mapapalangi and Chris Baumann swapped rugby balls for axes and saws as they took part in Stihl TIMBERSPORTS® Newcomer’s Training Camp just before Easter.
Held at Brooksby Melton College in Leicestershire, the boys took some time out of their training schedule to discover what Stihl TIMBERSPORTS® is all about.
The lads tried their hands across three rookie disciplines:the Stock Saw, Single Buck and the Underhand Chop. Each event is designed to replicate lumberjack skill simulating the practice of felling or managing felled trees.
After a safety briefing and training session with Stihl TIMBERSPORTS® qualified instructors, the players spent the afternoon learning and competing against one another.
The lads also took the time to chat with media on the day and pose for photos with the STIHL team.
