Leicester Tigers have welcomed new commercial partner Big Bear Confectionery to Welford Road as the club’s new non-matchday training kit sponsor for the 2018/19 season.

Leicester-based Big Bear manufactures branded confectionery products including Fox’s Glacier Mints, Foxes Glacier Berries and Treble X Mints.

Big Bear will have its Fox’s logo included on the non-matchday training kit which will be unveiled ahead of the 2018/19 season. The club will also be working closely with the team at Big Bear across a number of promotions and activities for fans to get involved with.

Tigers held a presentation as chief executive Simon Cohen met Matt Baker, group commercial director, and Andrew Ovens, the marketing manager at Big Bear, at last weekend’s European Champions Cup fixture against Racing 92.

Matt said: “Both Fox’s Glaciers and the Tigers celebrate significant anniversaries this year. It is 100 years since the launch of our famous Glacier Mints - and it seems fitting that we joined with the #TigersFamily to make their 125 years of rugby at Welford Road celebrations even more special. We're looking forward to kicking off our partnership with the club."

Fox’s Confectionery was founded by Walter Richard Fox in a Victorian warehouse in Leicester. In 1918, the Fox’s Glacier Mint was launched following a competition among staff to come up with a new product and logo – introducing Peppy the Polar Bear.

The Big Bear brand was formed in 2003 following a number of acquisitions and in 2015 came together under the name Big Bear Confectionery.
