For 125 years, Welford Road has welcomed fans to enjoy Christmas time at the home of Leicester Tigers.
From the historic Barbarians fixtures to hosting festive parties, Welford Road has a special place in the memories of generations of fans at this time of year.
So in the stadium’s special anniversary year, we’ve got even more for fans to enjoy throughout December.
We’ll be kicking off December with our #Welford125 advent calendar, sharing images and stories from Welford Road’s rich history.
Tigers are in action at Welford Road two huge fixtures in the run-up to Christmas, with a European Champions Cup match against Munster on Sunday, December 17 (5.30pm) and then Saracens in the Aviva Premiership on Christmas Eve (3.00pm).
On the day of the Munster match, Tigers will be hosting a Christmas Market including:
- Christmas Snowglobe photobooth
- Santa’s Grotto
- Kibworth Choir singers
- Chance to win prizes with Welford’s Wheel
- Fordy’s Kicking Challenge
- Junior Tigers Club Christmas Quiz
- Festive food, mulled wine and cider
- Festive stalls, including the Tigers Store and Matt Hampson Foundation
On December 19, Tigers will have a special player appearance at Highcross Shopping Centre. Come down and meet players, have a photo and take advantage of some incredible deals at the Tigers Store plus the chance to win prizes with Welford’s Wheel.
At the Christmas Eve match against Saracens there will be prizes for the best fancy dress, a half-time pass-the-parcel game, carol singers and festive food and drink. And a special appearance from Santa.
A group of Tigers players will be visiting patients at the Leicester Royal Infirmary Hospital and Glenfield Hospital, and keep an eye on the website throughout December for news of the club partners and official charities over the festive period.
And don’t forget to visit the Tigers Store for great gift ideas for all the family.
Tickets for both Christmas fixtures are on general sale now. Book by phoning the Tigers ticket office on 0116 319 8888 (option 2), visit the Tigers store at Highcross Shopping Centre or book online.
