Ton up for Tigers in 2010/11 season

Leicester Tigers scored exactly 100 tries during the season, the club's best tally since 2006/07.

Top try-scorers in the Aviva Premiership season with 68, Tigers topped the league table for a third successive season before being beaten 22-18 by Saracens in the club’s seventh successive appearance in the Premiership Final.

Other end-of-season figures revealed by statistician Stuart Farmer:

Seventeen players made first-team debuts during 2010/11.

Toby Flood was the Tigers’ top points-scorer for a third successive season, but his tally of 187 points was the lowest by the leading scorer since John Ingleby scored just 154 points in 1973/74.

Alesana Tuilagi was the top try-scorer for the first time

Thomas Waldrom played in the most matches in the season, with 27 starts and five appearances as a replacement.

Scott Hamilton made the most starting appearances with 30, followed by Craig Newby, George Chuter and Alesana Tuilagi on 29.

Toby Flood moved up to 13th place on the Tigers all-time points list, while Geordan Murphy moved up to 12th in the same table.

With 90 tries, Geordan Murphy is 17th on the club’s all-time list.

Tigers scored just one drop goal in 2010/11, the lowest total since 1998/99.
