Tom Varndell was presented with the Coral Top Try Scorer Award at the Guinness Premiership Awards Dinner on Wednesday night.

Varndell scored 13 Premiership tries in 21 league appearances to take his total number of tries for the club to 62 since his debut in November 2004.

The 22-year-old, who will take part in the Barclays Churchill Cup with England Saxons this summer, finished three tries ahead of Bath's Matt Banahan and Gloucester's James Simpson-Daniel, who both crossed on 10 occasions.

As well as securing a play-off place for Tigers, Varndell's late score against Harlequins on May 10 took his tally for the 2007/08 season to 17 tries in all competitions.
