An independent Appeal Committee will convene in Glasgow on Thursday (April 30) to hear the appeal lodged by Alesana Tuilagi of Leicester Tigers against the decision of an independent Disciplinary Committee.
The original disciplinary committee found Tuilagi guilty of foul play in that he had played Nick Abendanon without the ball in contravention of Law 10.4 (f) in the Heineken Cup quarter-final match against Bath Rugby at the Walkers Stadium on April 11.

The committee determined that the offence was at the mid-range of the level of seriousness for that offence and, having taken into account any mitigating and aggravating factors, suspended the player for a period of four weeks running up to and including May 21.
