All 50,000 tickets have been sold for the game after Quins decided to move from their Stoop home ground to the national stadium, and Tigers head coach Meyer said: “I have been to Twickenham as an assistant coach with South Africa, it is brilliant stadium and I am just looking forward to taking in the atmosphere and I hope it is great occasion.
“It is great for the competition and for rugby in this country that a game in the Guinness Premiership can attract such a big crowd. It is great for the game going forward.
“But in the end we still have to go out and play well enough to win. I just hope we play the type of rugby that makes the supporters proud and I hope it will be a cracker of a game.”
The two sides have already met in the Guinness Premiership this season, with Tigers earning a 27-14 victory at Welford Road just a month ago.
But Meyer says he has not spent much time reflecting on that triumph in the build-up to the return fixture.
“Do not read too much into that game,” the Tigers head coach said. “Quins are a good side, they have a good lineout and a good kicking game, and Nick Evans at fly-half can create a lot.
“It is all about taking your chance. The top six in the table are so close together that the difference can be one opportunity.”
Tigers' next home game is against Bath Rugby, at Welford Road on Sunday, January 4 (1.30pm kick-off). Tickets are available now. Call the Tigers ticket office on 08701 28 34 30, book online or call in at Welford Road.
