Loosehead prop Marcos Ayerza, who was making his first start after a nine-week injury absence, claimed his first try of the season after 28 minutes.
The Argentina international followed up Craig Newby’s break to barrel over to the right of the posts from 5m out. It finished off a sweeping move that had started on the left wing and involved Julien Dupuy, Sam Vesty, Aaron Mauger and Scott Hamilton.
Three minutes later fly-half Vesty opened up the Warriors defence again, this time with a fine dummy on the halfway line before finding Alesana Tuilagi on his shoulder. The wing race away into the left-hand corner for his first try of the season.
Scrum-half Julien Dupuy converted both tries to add to his penalty that had given Tigers the lead on 22 minutes.
Ayerza was one of two players to come into the front row, replacing Boris Stankovich while Benjamin Kayser replaced George Chuter at hooker. The changes in the backline saw Geordan Murphy come in to the side at full-back with Scott Hamilton switching to the wing and Matt Smith moving to centre in the absence of the injured Seru Rabeni.
