Update on Tigers' global partners

With the rugby season now in full flow, we caught up with Leicester Tigers’ global partner clubs in Dendermonde and Kuala Lumpur to see how their teams have been getting on so far.

KL Tigers Academy

Based in Malaysia, KL Tigers have grown into one of the country’s most prominent clubs with over 500 players and 23 teams in senior, women’s and youth rugby.

A huge congratulations to The KL Tigers teams who won gold at the Cobra 10s Mini 2017 tournament. The third annual festival features teams from under-six to under-16s taking part in the competition, pitching some of the clubs’ best young talent against one another.

Winning seven age groups (U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, U13 and U14), KL Tigers proved that their youth set-up is stronger than ever.

Dendermonde RFC

At the end of October, Tigers’ newest partner club’s senior men’s and women’s teams made a strong start to the season in Belgium.

The men sit in second place in the country’s top division, with the women leading their division.

The club also hosted a national youth tournament for under-eight, under-10 and under-12 teams from around Belgium.

Dendermonde are launching a ‘Warme Week – Music for Life’ event to raise money for Wheelchair Rugby Antwerp with the under-18, women, seniors and veteran teams hosting sponsored events at the club during December.

We’ll be watching KL Tigers and Dendermonde RFC throughout the season and keeping Tigers fans up to date with how their teams are getting on. You can find out more about the teams below.
